Chemistry Club

The Chemistry Club has three purposes:
(1) to appreciate the art of chemistry, (2) to explore the mysteries in chemistry, and (3) to create chemistry experiment shows. The club encourages members to research topics of interest and present them during the club meetings. The club will select the best chemistry papers to submit to the Research Science Institute in Massachusetts. Lastly, the Chemistry Club will create an entertaining chemistry demonstration to present to the Valley Christian Elementary School (VCES) to help inspire an early love of chemistry. Members are required to attend meetings and write up two experiments they plan to do under adult supervision. Additionally, they will find at least five interesting chemistry topics to introduce to other members. Lastly, members will photograph and fully document the club experiments.

Students will be able to:

  • Safely use chemicals in all the work they do
  • Construct their own experiments and write a formal paper
  • Create an exciting chemistry demonstration for the VCES
  • Inspire others to have an appreciation for the field of chemistry
