Preparing the Next Generation of Christian STEM Innovators

Junior AMSE provides junior high students with incredible facilities and unique opportunities to inspire future mathematicians, scientists, and engineers, all while preparing them for our Valley Christian High School AMSE Institute programs. From the competitive Robotics Team to the Ocean Discovery program, Junior AMSE offers a variety of after-school programs and electives to enhance and expand on the comprehensive Math, Science and STEM elective course offerings.

Junior high students have their choice of over 10 STEM-focused electives to explore during the school day.

Junior AMSE Requirements

Junior AMSE Membership is open to all students. To qualify for AMSE Distinction and receive a pin of recognition at the eighth-grade graduation ceremony, members must participate in a minimum of two AMSE programs or electives. (Participation in one program and one elective will also qualify.)

How to Apply to Junior AMSE

Incoming VCJH students who are interested in expanding their learning and receiving hands-on STEM training are encouraged to apply to AMSE. Please note that this application is only for new students to the Junior AMSE Institute. Currently enrolled Junior AMSE Institute students do not need to reapply each year.

Junior AMSE Membership

Members stay up to date on AMSE news and activities with no obligation for participation. Students may join at any time. Members are eligible to participate in AMSE after school programs.

Junior AMSE Distinction

Students commit to participate in a minimum of two AMSE programs or electives by the end of 8th grade. An AMSE pin of distinction will be presented to qualifying students at graduation. (Participation in one program and one elective will also qualify.)

How to Apply to Junior AMSE Institute Programs

After-school programs and STEM focused clubs offer students a platform to engage with exciting material and the chance to participate in life-changing experiences. Junior high students may participate in a maximum of one AMSE program per semester.

Program applications for the 2024/25 school year will open in August.
