The Prudential Spirit of Community President's Volunteer Service Award goes to Ian Lau!
The Prudential Spirit of Community Awards, established in 1995 by Prudential Financial in partnership with the National Association of Secondary School Principals, is America's largest youth recognition program based solely on volunteer service.
Each year, it recognizes students in grades 5-12 who make meaningful contributions to their communities through volunteer service. The program is conducted through middle level and high schools, as well as five designated local organizations. Over the course of its history, The Prudential Spirit of Community Awards has honored more than 115,000 youth volunteers at the local, state, and national level.
VCJH's own Ian Lau was chosen by The Prudential Spirit of Community committee as our school's recipient of this year's President's Volunteer Service Award. Ian's work in the local program where he served K-6 grade children included teaching, tutoring, and mentoring youngsters. He was inspired by the opportunity to give back to his community. Congratulations, Ian!
