An important part of the Spiritual Life at Valley Christian Schools is the weekly Chapel meeting. Chapels are one of the ways our students receive a spiritual infusion and encouragement in their faith. The word infusion has Latin roots meaning “to pour in” and “to soak up.” VCS takes this opportunity to pour life-giving inspiration into our students halfway through the week in order to help them maintain a right perspective in the busyness of life. Students have the opportunity to soak up truth as well as express their hearts toward God and each other through inspirational music, teaching, Scripture reading, and prayer. These chapels are held almost weekly, but are occasionally interspersed with Assemblies, which do not have a spiritual emphasis.
High School Chapels are from 11:50am- 12:40pm on Wednesdays. Mr. Reggie Coates (our High School Chapel Director) opens the chapels and Mr. Nathan Smith (our High School Chaplain) closes the chapels. There are two worship teams who take turns leading worship through music. The student chaplain prays and introduces the speaker. Then, a quality motivational speaker shares provocative truth on relevant topics for the students to enjoy and be challenged.
