Posted 11/01/2017 12:35PM

VCJH Life Science students were challenged to create and design a device that would harvest pumpkins from their patches and place them into a designated container as efficiently as possible. Efficiency was measured by time. A few key points of success that students took away from this STEM Challenge included that when solving problems and identifying solutions, teamwork is a vital part of the process. Another aspect the class discovered was the relationship between simplicity and efficiency. This was evident in the design that scored the lowest time. Overall, students enjoyed participating in this Challenge, along with exploring the effectiveness of collaboration in real world situations.
